Optic pigtail (optic mounting cord) is intented for fiber termination by welding, or by mechanical splice. Optic pigtail - is a piece of optic fiber in a bufer shell 0.9mm connectores on one side. Pigtail can be produce with shell of different dimension, but for installing inside a cross, it's better to have a pigtail that is thinner and it's better suited to 0.9mm connector buffer shell. Next we must weld the pigtail to the cable optic feber and then put them into the splice cassette and connect it to an appropriate optical adapter.

Connector types: SC, FC, ST, LC, MT-RJ. Polish types: PC (Physical Contact), SPC (Super Physical Contact), UPC (Ultra Physical Contact), APC (Angled Physical Contact).

Optic adapters are necessary for conection between pigtails and cords. Fiber-optic adapters are intended for installation in the optic patch-panels and optic boxes. If you use optic adapters, it allows to make your resolution more universal. Of course, you can weld optic patch-cords and pigtails to the feber and directly pull out from the box without optic adapters using, but if you use them, you will not be able to connect to any connector. Also if you use optic adapters you will nullify all effects on the welding location and other components in the patch-panel. Optic adapters are not divided into single-mode and multimode types, they are universal. On this page you can find classic adapters, which have the same type of connectors, and hybrid - with different types of connectors.

Optic patch-cord (patchcord) - it is a commutator cord, consisting of a segment of optic feber, which is terminated with different tyoes of optic connectors. Patch-cord - is a component of fiber optic structured cable system. With the help og patch-cords, the fiber optic device is connected to another.

Connector types: SC, FC, ST, LC, MT-RJ. Polish types: PC (Physical Contact), SPC (Super Physical Contact), UPC (Ultra Physical Contact), APC (Angled Physical Contact).
